Live Training - Caring for Older Adults with AML: Navigating the Canadian Algorithm and Enhancing Nursing Support
November 25th, 2025 at 3pm ET
This
1-hour training, offered by Dr. David Sanford, hematologist, equips nurses with the knowledge and practical
skills needed to support older adults diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia
(AML) in Canada.
Participants will explore the Canadian AML treatment
algorithm, with a focus on age-specific considerations, treatment tolerability,
and supportive care strategies. Through case-based learning and clinical
insights, nurses will gain confidence in managing complex care needs,
advocating for patient-centered decisions, and improving outcomes for this
vulnerable population.
Dr. David Sanford joined the Leukemia/BMT Program of BC in September
2015. He has interests in clinical research in acute myeloid leukemia,
including the development of targeted therapies and the role of minimal
residual disease in guiding treatment.
